Recession Impact on Rural Income

Though median household income dropped for all areas of the United States population--falling by 6.9% nation-wide--rural areas saw less income decline during the 2000-2010 decade than either small cities or urban areas.

Urban Influence Since 1980
USDA | READ STORY

Though urban areas only make up 3% of the United States' geographical landscape, the USDA's Economic Research Service reports that urban influence is ever on the rise, showing a 13% increase from 1980 to 2000.
